The Second Friday Speaker Series presents speakers on a variety of sustainability topics during the academic year, beginning in October. Topics have included composting, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, energy efficiency, bottled water and the MA Bottle Bill, urban gardening, watershed ecology, and Arctic sea ice melt.
The series is held the second Friday of the month, 12-1:00 p.m., on Massasoit’s Brockton campus. Talks are generally presented in the Louison Board Room of the Student Center, but the December 9 talk will be in the LA Building — Room LA560 — and simulcast to Canton Room C211. Massasoit Biology Professor Melanie Trecek-King will speak about her amazing sabbatical experience, which began in Costa Rica to study sustainable agriculture and took her to 12 countries over 7 months.
Talks are free and open to all members of the Massasoit community. Please join us!
